Frequently asked questions

Before the massage or Reiki treatment you will have a short consultation where I will ask you about any injuries or other conditions that I should know about. You can also tell me if you have a preference for light or firm pressure during the massage.

Things you would want tell a therapist include areas of tightness or pain, allergies, and conditions like pregnancy. You should also let me know about any medications you are taking or other treatments you are having.

Most importantly, you must feel safe and comfortable. have my own padded table that I will set up in your chosen room. The table is designed to be stable and comfortable.

You can wear whatever you feel most comfortable in and during the massage, a clean towel will cover you. I only uncover the area that is being worked on. Some clients prefer to wear a swimsuit or shorts. All private parts are always covered, and never touched. I will always maintain and respect the client's boundaries. After the treatment I will advise you how to lie on the table and will leave you in privacy to undress.

During the Massage many people just close their eyes and relax ,others prefer to talk. It's your massage, and whatever feels natural for you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time. If I need to adjust your position, I will either move you (for instance lift your arm) or I will tell you what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.

An hour is a common length of time for a massage. This gives time for a deeply relaxing full body massage, or more in-depth work on a particular area. A half-hour can be an excellent introduction to bodywork, with plenty of time for a specific area such as back, neck, and shoulders. An hour and a half is usually enough time to address the whole body.

During a Reiki treatment you remain fully clothed and I place my hands on or near your body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on your needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position.
